Gluten-free salted caramel rice krispie treats - a simple, sweet, and chewy crowd-pleaser!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • cooking spray
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 2.5 teaspoons flaked sea salt
  • 1 (16 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
  • 12 ounces gluten-free crispy rice cereal (such as Kellogg's® Gluten Free Rice Krispies®)
Instructions:
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Add the cereal to a spacious heatproof bowl.
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt butter until golden and fragrant. Add brown sugar, cream, and corn syrup to the butter, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and turns into a luscious caramel in about 7 minutes. Sprinkle in 2 teaspoons of salt, then take it off the heat and fold in marshmallows until silky and fully melted.
  • Pour the gooey marshmallow mixture over the crispy rice cereal and mix gently. Transfer the delectable cereal blend to the ready baking dish and firmly press it down using a greased parchment paper. Finally, sprinkle with just the right amount of 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, allow it to cool, and slice into perfect squares for a delectable treat.
