Salted Chocolate Almond Fudge

Elevate classic fudge with smoked almonds, dried cherries, and sea salt in rich chocolate and condensed milk. Perfect for gifting!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 can (6 oz) coarsely chopped smoked almonds
  • 1 bag (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips (6 oz)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
  • 1 cup chopped dried cherries
  • 1/2 teaspoon fleur de sel sea salt or coarse sea salt, if desired
Instructions:
  • Cover a cookie sheet and an 8-inch square pan with foil.
  • In an 8-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter until bubbly. Stir in brown sugar and cook for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Add almonds and coat them. Spread almonds on a cookie sheet to cool completely for about 15 minutes. Break into small pieces before serving.
  • Place the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a large microwavable bowl. Microwave on High for 1 minute, then stir. Microwave for an additional minute. Stir in almonds and dried cherries until well blended.
  • Evenly spread the mixture in an 8-inch square pan, sprinkle with salt, and refrigerate for about 2 hours until firm. Cut into 6 rows by 6 rows and store covered at room temperature.
