Indulge in salty-sweet Passover treat: Matzoh Toffee with chocolate, sea salt, brown sugar, butter, and vanilla.
Ingredients:
  • 4 pieces matzoh
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 bag (12 oz) semisweet or milk chocolate chips
  • Coarse sea salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 250°F. Line a cookie sheet with sides or a 15x10x1-inch pan with foil. Arrange the matzoh to fit in the sheet or pan.
  • Melt butter and brown sugar in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat. Take off the heat and stir in vanilla. Evenly spread the sweet mixture over the matzoh.
  • Bake in the oven for 25 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top of the brown sugar mixture. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 3 minutes until the chips begin to melt. Remove from the oven, spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top, sprinkle with sea salt, and refrigerate the toffee for 2 hours until completely set.
  • Prepare the toffee by breaking it into bite-sized pieces for serving.
