Decadent powdered sugar-coated butter cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.25 cup confectioners' sugar, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Cream butter until fluffy, then incorporate 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar and vanilla. Mix in flour until just combined, then fold in nuts. Form dough into a ball, flatten into a disc, and chill wrapped in plastic wrap until cold.
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (170°C) and prepare cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheets, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
  • Bake in the oven until golden and set, around 20 minutes.
  • Sift 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar into a bowl. Roll warm cookies in the sugar to coat them gently. Place the coated cookies in a resealable plastic bag, seal it, and allow the cookies to rest until they develop icing, approximately 5 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool.
