Make zesty freezer slaw with cabbage and apple cider vinegar for a refreshing twist on coleslaw.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds shredded cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 large carrots, shredded
Instructions:
  • Combine shredded cabbage and salt in a colander and let it drain for 1 hour. Squeeze out excess moisture from the cabbage, then mix in the carrots and portion the cabbage mixture into pint containers.
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar, vinegar, water, celery seed, and dry mustard. Boil for 1 minute, then cool. Pour the chilled vinegar dressing over the cabbage mixture, cover, and freeze. Thaw before serving.
