Time-saving pre-baked crust topped with spicy Italian sausage, fresh fennel, and creamy ricotta for a flavor-packed pizza.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 (14 ounce) package prepared pizza crust
  • 0.5 pound bulk hot Italian sausage
  • 0.5 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 bulb fennel, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup baby spinach leaves
  • 0.5 cup ricotta cheese
  • 0.25 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) for a perfect start to your dish.
  • Heat a frying pan over medium heat and drizzle with olive oil. Add tomatoes, garlic, Italian seasoning, red pepper, and salt, and cook while stirring frequently until tomatoes break down, about 5 minutes. Spread the flavorful tomato mixture over the pizza crust.
  • In the same pan over medium-high heat, brown the sausage for about 6 minutes. Set aside the cooked sausage, keeping the flavorful grease in the pan. Cook onion and fennel until softened for about 5 minutes. Then, add spinach and cook until just wilted, around 30 seconds.
  • Evenly distribute the sausage and vegetable mixture over the tomato-covered crust. Add dollops of creamy ricotta cheese and a generous sprinkle of shaved Parmesan on top.
  • Bake in the oven until the cheese is gooey and the top starts to golden, about 8 to 10 minutes.
