Cheesy quiche with sausage crust on hash brown bed - ideal for brunch time!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package Johnsonville® Original, Brown Sugar & Honey, or Vermont Maple Syrup Breakfast Sausage links
  • 2 cups Simply Potatoes® Shredded Hash Browns
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 10 eggs
  • 1 cup half-and-half cream
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 5 small, thin tomato slices
  • 1 tablespoon thinly sliced chives
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • Prepare the breakfast sausage as instructed on the package; then, set it aside.
  • Crisp up the hash browns in butter in a skillet.
  • Evenly layer the hash browns in a greased 9-inch deep dish pie plate that is about 1-3/4 inches deep.
  • Gently layer cheese in the center of the pie plate.
  • Create a flavorful border by placing breakfast sausages around the edge of the pie plate at a slight angle, using cheese to support the links.
  • Mix together the eggs, cream, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl, then transfer the mixture into a pie plate.
  • Layer tomato slices elegantly over the quiche and generously sprinkle with fresh chives for a burst of flavor and color.
  • Wrap the sausage at the edge of the quiche with foil to avoid excessive browning.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until the eggs are cooked through. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
