Pineapple buckle: Sweet pineapple baked with butter, spices, and bread topping.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound butter, melted
  • 1.6670000553131 cups white sugar
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon, or to taste
  • 4 cups bread cubes
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease an 8x10 inch casserole dish.
  • Mix together in a medium bowl the butter, sugar, pineapple, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined. Spread the bread cubes in the casserole dish and pour the pineapple mixture on top.
  • Place in a hot oven for 45 minutes or until beautifully golden and fully cooked. If the top browns too quickly before the dish is fully set, simply cover it with aluminum foil. Rest for 10 minutes before enjoying.
