Indulgent scalloped potatoes - the creamy, holiday side dish pairs perfectly with ham, roast beef, and chicken.
Ingredients:
  • 3 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 onion, thinly sliced
  • 9 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
  • 6 tablespoons butter, diced and divided
  • 3 cups whole milk, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), then generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Layer the prepared baking dish with one-third of the potato slices, followed by one-third of the onion slices. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of flour over the layers, then distribute 2 tablespoons of butter on top. Season the entire layer generously with salt and pepper. Repeat the layering process two more times.
  • Warm the milk in a saucepan. Pour it over the mixture in the baking dish until the liquid reaches the top layer of potatoes.
  • Roast in the preheated oven until potatoes are fork-tender, for about 45-60 minutes. Serve piping hot and savor every bite!
