Seared tuna with watercress & pear salad

Elevate your meal with seared tuna paired with a crisp pear and watercress salad.
Ingredients:
  • 4 (about 180g each, 2cm thick) tuna steaks
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper
  • 36.40 gm olive oil
  • 21.00 gm fresh lemon juice
  • 40.00 ml drained capers, chopped
  • 2.50 gm caster sugar
  • 1/2 bunch watercress, sprigs picked, washed, dried
  • 2 just-ripe pears, peeled, quartered, cored, thinly sliced
  • 40g snow pea sprouts, cut in half
Instructions:
  • Heat a chargrill on high. For the watercress & pear salad, mix oil, lemon juice, capers, and sugar in a jug. In a large bowl, combine watercress, pear, and snow pea sprouts. Drizzle with the dressing and lightly toss to mix.
  • Lay out the tuna on a plate and generously season it with salt and pepper. Grill for 2 minutes on each side, aiming for medium-rare or your preferred level of doneness.
  • Serve the tuna on individual plates and generously top with the vibrant salad to enjoy right away.
