Seattle's late-night hit: cream cheese on hotdogs, a local fav!
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 Walla Walla or other sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 (4 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 4 hot dogs, or your favorite sausages
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • brown mustard
  • 1 cup sauerkraut
Instructions:
  • Get the grill or grill pan ready by preheating it to medium-high heat.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter until sizzling. Slowly cook onions until deeply golden and softened, about 15 minutes. Warm cream cheese in another skillet over low heat until very soft.
  • Grill hot dogs until golden brown and lightly toast the buns on each side.
  • On a toasted hot dog bun, generously smear warm cream cheese, then nestle in a hot dog or sausage. Finish off with a savory sprinkle of onions and a dollop of mustard, and sauerkraut, if desired.
