Whip up a warm, gooey chocolate cake with a hidden sauce layer in just 7 minutes using your microwave.
Ingredients:
  • 4 ounces self-rising flour
  • 4 ounces white sugar
  • 1 ounce unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 2 ounces margarine, melted
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 ounces brown sugar
  • 0.25 pint warm water
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, 1 ounce of cocoa powder, and salt. Add egg, milk, melted margarine, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly and transfer the mixture to a large microwave-safe bowl with sides at least 2 inches high.
  • Mix the brown sugar and 1 ounce of cocoa powder in a bowl. Sprinkle this mixture over the batter in the microwave-safe bowl. Carefully pour warm water over the cake and gently prick a few holes in it with a fork to allow the water to seep through.
  • Microwave on high for 5 minutes, then enjoy with a scoop of ice cream or custard.
