Enjoy a flavorful and spicy Sichuan asparagus dish with Asian flair using ingredients like soy sauce, sambal oelek, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, and ginger paste.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed and chopped
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sambal oelek
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions:
  • Boil a pot of water until bubbling, then quickly blanch asparagus for 1 minute. Refresh by running under cold water to halt cooking.
  • Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, rice wine vinegar, sambal oelek, sesame oil, ginger paste, and garlic in a bowl and whisk until smooth.
  • Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Simmer sauce until it thickens, approximately 3 minutes. Take the skillet off the heat and gently fold in the asparagus.
