Ingredients:
  • 2 whole artichokes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
Instructions:
  • Prepare the artichokes by removing the stems and cutting off the top inch. Snip off the thorny ends of each leaf with kitchen scissors to make them ready for cooking.
  • In a pot, create a flavorful steam by adding water, garlic, lemon juice, and a bay leaf. Place a steamer basket in the pot, ensuring the water level is below the basket.
  • Nestle the artichokes snugly in the basket, ensuring they rest on their flat bottoms.
  • Bring a pot of water to a vigorous boil, cover it, and simmer until the artichoke leaves can be effortlessly removed, which should take around 20 to 30 minutes.
