Lean meatloaf with egg whites and a touch of brown sugar for a healthier option.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
  • 0.5 cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
  • 0.33333334326744 cup finely chopped onion
  • 0.33333334326744 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cup ketchup, divided
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1.5 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and lightly spray a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine beef, bread crumbs, onion, Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons ketchup, egg whites, brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a bowl until fully mixed. Pack mixture into the loaf pan.
  • Roast in the preheated oven, uncovered, until the center is no longer pink, approximately 45 minutes. Brush the remaining ketchup on top and bake until it bubbles and thickens, another 15 minutes. Ensure the dish reaches an internal temperature of at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C) using an instant-read thermometer.
