Indulge in nostalgic sloppy Joes with crispy shoestring fries and tangy pickles on the side.
Ingredients:
18.20 gm olive oil
1brown onion, finely chopped
1green capsicum, seeded, finely chopped
500g 4-Star Beef Mince
23.40 gm American mustard
60ml tomato sauce
24.40 gm Worcestershire sauce
160ml passata
4Brioche Buns, split crossways
4slicestasty cheese
Shoestring fries, to serve
Dill pickles, to serve
Instructions:
Start by heating oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, sauté the onion and capsicum for 5 minutes or until the onion softens. Next, add the mince and cook for 8 minutes, using a wooden spoon to break up any lumps, until the mince changes color. Then, mix in the mustard, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and passata, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the mince mixture thickens.
Preheat the grill to high. Arrange the bun bases on a large baking tray. Spoon the mince mixture onto the buns and top with cheese slices. Place the bun tops, cut-side up, on the tray. Grill until the cheese melts and the bun tops are toasted, about 2 minutes.
Place the bun tops on top of the cheese and serve alongside the shoestring fries and dill pickles.
