Quick and delicious Sloppy Joes made with lean beef, pantry staples, and soft burger buns. Perfect for a cozy family meal!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 0.75 cup ketchup, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard, or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 6 hamburger buns, split
Instructions:
  • 1. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. 2. Cook lean ground beef, stirring occasionally, until some fat starts to render, about 3 to 4 minutes. 3. Add onion and bell pepper and cook until vegetables are softened and beef is cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes more.
  • Add the ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and garlic powder to the mixture. Season with salt and pepper, then simmer on low heat for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Evenly distribute the meat mixture onto the hamburger buns.
