Delicious homemade baked beans: Soak white beans, then slow cook with ham hocks, onion, brown sugar, maple syrup, ketchup, and mustard. Enjoy authentic flavor with minimal effort!
Ingredients:
  • 24 ounces dry white beans
  • 1 pound ham hocks
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
Instructions:
  • In a large pot over high heat, simmer the beans in enough water to cover for 10 minutes. Let it rest off heat for 1 hour. Drain the beans and transfer them to a slow cooker. Mix in ham hocks, onion, brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, and water.
  • Ensure the ingredients are thoroughly combined, then cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours, giving it a gentle stir from time to time. In the last hour of cooking, stir in the ketchup and mustard, remove the ham from the hocks, discard the hocks, mix everything well, and it's ready to be served.
