Ingredients:
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.33333334326744 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1.5 pounds beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 pounds broccoli florets, or to taste
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions:
  • Crumble beef bouillon cube into warm water in a bowl, stir until dissolved. Mix in soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and sesame oil until sugar is dissolved.
  • Place the beef strips in the slow cooker crock and generously coat them with the flavorful sauce mixture.
  • Slow cook for 6 to 8 hours on Low (or 4 hours on High) until done.
  • Transfer 2 tablespoons of flavorful liquid from the slow cooker into a bowl. Combine with cornstarch, then stir the mixture back into the slow cooker until it thickens and blends evenly.
  • Simmer on High until the sauce reaches desired thickness, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Set up a steamer in a saucepan filled with water just below the steamer. Heat the water until boiling.
  • Steam broccoli until tender in a covered steamer for 2 to 6 minutes, then add to the sauce in the slow cooker and stir to coat.
  • Serve the broccoli beef over cooked jasmine rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a beautiful finish.
