Slow-cooked pork in tasty broth for mouthwatering tamales, tacos, and burritos.
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon crumbled dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 (4 pound) boneless pork shoulder roast
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 cups chicken broth
Instructions:
  • Combine salt, garlic powder, cumin, oregano, coriander, and cinnamon in a bowl. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork. Place bay leaves in the slow cooker, then add the seasoned pork on top. Carefully pour chicken broth around the sides of the pork without washing off the spices.
  • Slow cook pork until it easily shreds with a fork after 10 hours, turning halfway through.
  • Once the pork is tender, take it out from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Add cooking liquid as required to keep the meat moist.
