Stay cool and make juicy, smoky burgers in your slow cooker using liquid smoke and browning sauce for maximum flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet aluminum foil
  • 1.3333333730698 pounds 85% lean ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke flavoring
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grill seasoning (such as Montreal Steak Seasoning®)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.33333334326744 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 teaspoons browning sauce (such as Kitchen Bouquet®)
  • 4 hamburger buns
Instructions:
  • Turn the slow cooker setting to Low.
  • Prepare an aluminum foil rack by rolling 1-inch rolls to fit the length of the 5-quart, oblong cooker. Ensure there are 4 rolls in total, folding in any long ends and squeezing them to secure. Place the rolls evenly along the bottom of the cooker.
  • Mix together ground beef, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, steak seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, bread crumbs, and egg in a bowl until well combined.
  • Shape the meat mixture into 4 patties, each about 1/2 inch thick. Brush both sides of the patties with 1/2 teaspoon of browning sauce and place them on the aluminum rack without overlapping.
  • Slow cook the burgers for approximately 4 1/2 hours until they are no longer pink in the center, and the temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C) when tested with an instant-read thermometer.
  • Assemble each cooked patty on a hamburger bun.
