Slow Cooker White Beans with Smoked Meat and Veggies: Easy and Flavorful!
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups dried great Northern beans, rinsed
  • 2 large smoked neck bones
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 0.5 teaspoon soul seasoning
  • 0.5 onion, finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon white vinegar, or to taste
  • 1 pinch white sugar, or to taste
  • 1 dash hot sauce, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Assemble all your ingredients.
  • In a large container, submerge the beans in cool water, ensuring they are covered by several inches. Allow them to soak for 8 hours to overnight. Drain, rinse, and set aside.
  • In a slow cooker, nestle the neck bones and cover them with chicken broth. Stir in the soul seasoning for a burst of flavor.
  • Cook the meat on High heat until it becomes so tender that it easily falls off the bone, approximately 1 hour. Then, transfer both the bones and meat to a plate, and shred the meat off the bones, disposing of the bones afterwards.
  • Combine beans, onion, vinegar, sugar, and hot sauce in the slow cooker and layer shredded meat on top.
  • Slow cook for 4 to 6 hours on low heat or 2 to 4 hours on high heat.
