Prepare ahead and enjoy a flavorful slow cooker whole chicken for any occasion with a delicious overnight seasoning rub.
Ingredients:
  • 4 teaspoons salt, or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 whole chicken
Instructions:
  • Combine the salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, thyme, white pepper, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  • Massage the seasoning mixture all over the chicken to ensure it's evenly seasoned. Place the seasoned chicken in a large resealable plastic bag and refrigerate for 8 hours to overnight.
  • Cook the chicken in a slow cooker on Low for 4 to 8 hours until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear. Verify doneness by checking that an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
