Flavorful slow-cooked hearty three-bean chili with a spicy kick from sauce and canned chiles, topped with sharp Cheddar cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped (about 3/4 cup)
  • 1 can (28 oz) baked beans, undrained
  • 1 can (15.5 oz) butter beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) Progresso™ kidney beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) chili sauce
  • 2 cans (4 oz) Old El Paso™ Chopped Green Chiles
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • Shredded Cheddar cheese, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the ground beef and onion until the beef is fully cooked; then drain off any excess fat.
  • Combine the cooked ground beef mixture with the remaining ingredients, excluding the cheese, in a 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker.
  • Cover and let it simmer on Low for 4 hours until the flavors meld together perfectly. Garnish each serving with a generous sprinkle of sharp Cheddar cheese.
