Create a mouthwatering slow-cooked sandwich packed with pepperoni and ground beef - a fun twist on kids' favorites!
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
  • 1 small green bell pepper, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 2 jars (14 ounces each) pizza sauce
  • 1 package (3 1/2 ounces) sliced pepperoni, chopped (3/4 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 18 sandwich buns, split
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
Instructions:
  • In a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the beef and onion for about 8 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned; then drain any excess fat.
  • Prepare your slow cooker with a light coat of cooking spray, then add the beef mixture. Mix in bell pepper, pizza sauce, pepperoni, basil, and oregano.
  • Simmer covered on low heat for 4 to 6 hours.
  • Serve the delicious beef mixture on buns topped with cheese. Keep warm on low heat for up to 4 hours.
