Delicious blend of sweet apples, maple syrup, butternut squash, and savory sausage links.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 1 medium butternut squash (2 lb), peeled, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup real maple syrup or maple-flavored syrup
  • 2 tablespoons frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 packages (7 oz each) frozen brown-and-serve sausage links (original or maple flavor), thawed, cut up
Instructions:
  • In a 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, arrange layers of onion, squash, and apples. Combine syrup, juice concentrate, salt, and pepper in a small bowl, then drizzle over the apples.
  • Cover and simmer on Low heat for 5 to 6 hours.
  • Stir in the sausage and gently increase the heat to High. Cover and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the sausage is heated through.
