Create a mouthwatering whole chicken in the slow cooker with just 4 simple ingredients for a moist and flavorful meal that beats store-bought options.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 whole chicken (3 to 4 lb)
Instructions:
  • Grease a 5-quart oval slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • Combine brown sugar, chili powder, and salt in a small bowl, stirring until well mixed.
  • Dry the chicken thoroughly using paper towels, inside and out. Massage the chicken with the brown sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  • Arrange the chicken in the slow cooker, breast-side up.
  • Cover and cook on High heat setting for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours until the chicken legs easily move when lifted or twisted and a thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the thigh reads at least 165°F. Remove chicken from slow cooker and let it stand for 10 minutes before serving.
