Indulgent dip with smoked almonds, bacon, and two cheeses for rich flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, cubed
  • 3 jars (5 ounces each) process sharp Cheddar cheese spread
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 medium green onions, thinly sliced (2 tablespoons)
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped canned smoked whole almonds
  • 4 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
  • Assorted raw vegetables or breadsticks, if desired
Instructions:
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, gently warm cream cheese, cheese spread, milk, and garlic over medium heat. Stir frequently until the cheese is melted and you achieve a smooth mixture. Add in the onions and 1/4 cup of almonds.
  • Transfer the mixture into a 1-quart slow cooker to keep warm if preferred or into a serving bowl. Top with bacon and the remaining 1/4 cup of almonds. Serve with vegetables. The dip can be kept in the slow cooker on Low heat for up to 2 hours; stir occasionally. Serves 32 (2 tablespoons of dip each).
