Buttery injection and paprika-garlic spice rub enhance this succulent smoked turkey breast over wood chips.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (7 pound) whole turkey breast
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Preheat smoker to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C) and add hickory chips as directed by the manufacturer.
  • Mix together the chicken broth, melted butter, salt, and poultry seasoning in a bowl. Inject the solution evenly into the chicken breast.
  • Melt the remaining butter in a small dish and brush it evenly over the breast.
  • In a small bowl, mix together salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Season the entire breast thoroughly with the rub, ensuring all sides are coated evenly.
  • Smoke the breast in the preheated smoker until it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F (71 degrees C, about 3 hours). Remove from smoker and let it rest for 20 minutes before serving.
