Quick and easy sour cherry pie made with canned cherries. Pair with vanilla ice cream for the perfect sweet and sour dessert!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (15 ounce) package double crust ready-to-use pie crust
  • 3 (15 ounce) cans pitted sour cherries, drained
  • 3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Gently fit one pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
  • Combine cherries, tapioca, sugar, and almond extract in a bowl, allowing the flavors to mingle for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Next, slice the remaining pie crust into 1/2-inch strips to create a beautiful lattice top. Fill the pie shell with the cherry mixture. Then, arrange the strips in a crisscross pattern over the pie and seal the edges by gently pressing them together.
  • Place in the oven that has been preheated and bake for 45-50 minutes until the crust turns a beautiful golden brown color. Let it cool down before serving.
