Whip up quick and comforting sour cream biscuit sticks in 25 minutes for a cozy family meal!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh or freeze-dried chives
  • 1 1/4 cups sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • About 1/4 cup poppy seed, sesame seed or coarse salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 450°. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add shortening and blend until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Mix in chives. Gently stir in sour cream until dough comes together and forms a ball.
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently coat it with flour. Knead it lightly 10 times and then roll or pat it into a 12x8-inch rectangle. Cut the rectangle crosswise into 12 strips measuring 8x1 inch. Twist each strip and place them about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Lightly brush the strips with butter and sprinkle them with poppy seeds.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown, then swiftly transfer from the baking sheet. Serve immediately while hot.
