Moist sour cream lemon pound cake with a zesty lemon kick.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.75 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons lemon extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour an 8x4-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, beat together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Stir in sour cream, eggs, and lemon extract. Add flour and baking soda; mix until fully incorporated. Transfer batter into the greased loaf pan.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, approximately 1 hour.
  • Allow to cool completely for about 30 minutes after removing from the oven.
  • Take the loaf out of the pan and sprinkle it with confectioners' sugar for a sweet finishing touch.
