Pecan-crusted chess squares with sweet cream cheese filling - simply mix, layer, bake!
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray with flour
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously coat a 9x13-inch baking pan with floured cooking spray.
  • Prepare the crust by combining cake mix, melted butter, and egg in a bowl, then mix in pecans. Press the mixture into the bottom of the pan.
  • Prepare the filling by using an electric mixer to blend together the cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one by one, blending well after each addition. Spread the mixture evenly over the crust.
  • Bake in the oven for 45 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into 24 delicious squares.
