A quick and tasty Italian classic: Spaghetti with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Ready in just 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 (12 ounce) package thick spaghetti
  • 6 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided, or to taste
  • 1 hot chile pepper, seeded and minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
Instructions:
  • 1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 12 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of cooking water before draining.
  • In a large skillet, warm 4 tablespoons of olive oil. Cook chile and garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in 1/4 cup of reserved pasta water and stir. Add drained pasta, toss, and add more pasta water if needed for desired consistency. Mix in parsley, toss once more, and transfer to a plate. Optionally drizzle with remaining olive oil. Serve right away.
