Get the kids involved in making delicious meatballs for a fun kitchen activity.
Ingredients:
  • 300g lean beef mince
  • 1 small carrot, peeled, finely shredded
  • 1/2 small brown onion, grated
  • 40.00 ml chopped fresh continental parsley
  • 250g spaghetti
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 1 575g jar tomato and vegetable pasta sauce
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) water
  • Shredded parmesan, to serve
Instructions:
  • Combine mince, carrot, onion, and parsley in a large bowl using your hands. Roll mixture into tablespoon-sized balls and place on a large plate.
  • Boil spaghetti in a large saucepan of salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
  • Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until well browned and cooked through.
  • Combine the pasta sauce and water with the meatballs, bring to a boil over high heat, then lower to medium heat. Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  • Serve meatballs over a bed of spaghetti in individual bowls.
  • Garnish with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan before serving.
