Sparkling Holiday Jam

Delightful strawberry-cranberry jam, perfect for gifting in a festive jar with ribbon.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 quarts strawberries, coarsely chopped
  • 1 (12 ounce) package fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped
  • 2 (2 ounce) packages powdered fruit pectin
  • 1 teaspoon margarine
  • 5 pounds white sugar
Instructions:
  • Place jars and lids in a pot of boiling water for a minimum of 10 minutes to sterilize. Keep them simmering as you prepare the jam.
  • In a large saucepan, mix together strawberries, cranberries, pectin, and margarine. Bring the mixture to a boil. Add sugar and bring back to a boil. Cook for 1 minute, then remove from the heat.
  • Fill jars almost to the top, leaving 1/2 inch of space. Clean the rims, seal with lids, and boil in water for 5 minutes.
