Elevate your beef steak with a tantalizing spice rub.
Ingredients:
  • 2.50 gm smoked paprika
  • 2.50 gm ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 2.00 garlic clove, crushed
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 600g beef rump steak
  • 400g bottle piquante peppers, drained, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 small red onion, finely diced
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 40.00 ml chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves
  • 2 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 9.20 gm olive oil
  • Cooked chat potatoes (see note), to serve
Instructions:
  • In a ceramic baking dish, mix together paprika, cumin, chili flakes, garlic, and oil. Add the steak and massage to ensure it is evenly coated with the aromatic mixture.
  • Preheat a barbecue chargrill over medium-high heat. Grill steak for 3 to 4 minutes on each side for medium doneness or until cooked to your preference. Place on a plate, cover loosely with foil, and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • In a bowl, mix together peppers, onion, tomato, garlic, parsley, vinegar, and oil. Season with salt and pepper and stir until everything is well combined.
  • Arrange thinly sliced steak on a platter, top with flavorful salsa, and serve with crispy potatoes.
