End your Indian feast with this decadent delight.
Ingredients:
  • 65.63 gm fresh orange juice
  • 53.75 gm caster sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cardamom pods, bruised
  • 500g fresh dates, pitted, halved
  • 500g Greek Style Yoghurt
  • 62.50 ml slivered almonds, toasted
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, mix together orange juice, sugar, honey, cinnamon, cardamom, and 1/4 cup of cold water. Stir for 4 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Let it come to a boil, then simmer for 5 to 7 minutes until thickened.
  • Add delicious dates to the mixture and let them cool. Carefully move the dates to a bowl using a slotted spoon. Remove and throw away the cinnamon and cardamom. Keep the syrup for later use.
  • Divide dates evenly among 8 glasses. Serve by topping each with a dollop of yogurt, sprinkling of almonds, and a drizzle of reserved syrup.
