Spiced hot chocolate

Indulge in a quick and tasty hot chocolate recipe for a satisfying sweet craving.
Ingredients:
  • 1 vanilla bean, cut in half lengthways
  • 1.25L (5 cups) milk
  • 2 7cm cinnamon sticks, broken in half
  • 2 200g pkts milk chocolate, finely chopped
Instructions:
  • Scrape vanilla bean seeds using a small sharp knife.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, gently simmer the milk with cinnamon sticks and vanilla seeds and bean, stirring occasionally, for about 12 minutes until it just starts to simmer.
  • Put the chocolate in a large heatproof jug or bowl. Slowly pour the hot milk over the chocolate while whisking continuously until the chocolate is fully melted.
  • Return the mixture to the saucepan and stir over medium heat for 4-5 minutes until heated through, stirring constantly.
  • Discard the vanilla bean and cinnamon sticks before serving.
