"Spiced autumn fruit baked in flaky pie crust, perfect with creamy vanilla ice cream."
Ingredients:
  • 1 Classic Crisco® Double Pie Crust
  • 4 cups peeled, thinly sliced pears
  • 2 cups peeled, thinly sliced apples
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Milk
  • Cinnamon sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Roll out the dough for the bottom crust and gently place it in a 9-inch pie plate. Press the dough to fit without stretching, then trim the edges until even with the plate.
  • In a large bowl, mix together pears, apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and lemon juice. Transfer filling into the prepared pie crust.
  • Gently stretch out the dough for the top crust over the filled pie or create a lattice pattern with strips. Leave a 1/2 inch overhang, tuck it under the bottom crust, crimp and flute the edges. Make slits or prick the crust with a fork for steam to escape. Brush with milk and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar for a flavorful finish.
  • Bake until apples are tender and crust is golden brown, which should take about 30 to 40 minutes in a preheated oven.
