Spicy beef franks and kidney beans cooked with onions and Sriracha for a quick, flavorful meal for two in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 medium onion, vertically sliced
  • 0.5 cup tomato sauce
  • 0.5 cup beef broth, or as needed
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce, or more to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 (15.5 ounce) can dark red kidney beans, undrained
  • 0.5 pound all-beef franks, cut into 1-inch slices
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, let butter melt until sizzling. Add onions and saute until soft and caramelized, about 3-4 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine tomato sauce, 1/2 cup beef broth, flour, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Sriracha, sugar, chili powder, and salt. Pour the mixture over the onions and cook while stirring constantly until it thickens, about 2 minutes.
  • Add kidney beans and hot dogs to the mixture in the pot. Lower the heat, cover, and gently simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, ensuring the franks are heated through. If the mixture thickens too much, pour in extra beef broth as needed.
