Spicy orange beef meatballs with a retro cocktail twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground bison
  • 0.5 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Asian chile pepper sauce
  • 0.5 cup orange marmalade
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup rice vinegar
  • 3 cups water
Instructions:
  • Combine the bison, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl until well mixed. Shape the mixture into 24 meatballs.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the meatballs in vegetable oil until golden on all sides for 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Combine chili sauce, orange marmalade, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and water in the skillet. Simmer mixture over medium-low heat until the sauce thickens, approximately 1 hour.
