Elevate your taco salad with a unique pasta twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 3 1/4 cups hot water
  • 1 box Hamburger Helper™ chili macaroni
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Frank's™ RedHot™ Original cayenne pepper sauce
  • 1 large clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 12 leaves romaine lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, chopped (1 cup)
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
Instructions:
  • In a 10-inch skillet, sauté the beef over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through; then drain any excess fat.
  • Combine hot water, uncooked pasta, Hamburger Helper sauce mix, chili powder, oregano, pepper sauce, and garlic in a pot. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  • Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes, giving it an occasional stir. Uncover and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Take it off the heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the beef mixture on a bed of crisp lettuce leaves and generously top with fresh tomato slices. Finish with a dollop of creamy sour cream on top.
