Irresistible popcorn snack with spicy Buffalo sauce and sweet kettle corn - a game day hit!
Ingredients:
  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 0.33333334326744 cup Buffalo wing sauce (such as Frank's®)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, cut into small cubes
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions:
  • Prepare a generously sprayed large bowl then fill it with popcorn.
  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone pad.
  • In a saucepan, mix sugar and water, then bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Let it cook without stirring until the sugar melts and turns a deep amber color, about 8 to 12 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Carefully stir Buffalo sauce and butter into the caramel; expect some sizzling. Return to heat, bring to a boil while stirring until caramel dissolves, around 3 minutes. Remove from heat and blend in baking soda and cayenne pepper.
  • Carefully pour the spicy caramel over the popcorn and toss to fully coat, being cautious of the hot caramel. Spread the coated popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until dry. Cool for 10 minutes, then stir.
