Delicious and timeless springerle recipe made effortlessly with a springerle board. Perfect for holiday gifting.
Ingredients:
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pound confectioners' sugar
  • 2 teaspoons anise extract
  • 4.25 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
Instructions:
  • Beat eggs in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy on high speed. Reduce speed, add anise extract and confectioners' sugar, beat until combined. Stir in sifted flour and baking powder until dough is stiff.
  • Roll out the dough to a thickness of 3/8 inch. Use a springerle board to imprint designs and cut out the cookies. Place them on a cookie sheet and leave uncovered overnight to rest.
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake the cookies for 7 to 10 minutes.
