Tangy orange spritz cookies, sandwiched with decadent melted chocolate.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2.5 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Combine the shortening with sugar and orange juice gradually until creamy. Add the egg and orange rind, then beat until well combined.
  • Combine the sifted flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add the flour mixture into the creamed mixture. Use a cookie press to form cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C, and bake for 10-12 minutes.
