Easy spicy tofu jerky made in a dehydrator. Develops enhanced texture and flavor when refrigerated. Plan ahead for maximum enjoyment.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package extra-firm tofu, pressed and drained
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
Instructions:
  • Cut tofu block in half lengthwise, then slice into 1/8- to 1/4-inch strips. Place strips on a clean work surface.
  • Combine soy sauce, Sriracha, liquid smoke, and garlic powder in a bowl and mix until well combined. Coat the top side of tofu strips with the sauce using a brush, then carefully flip the strips and coat the other side with the remaining sauce.
  • Lay the strips on the dehydrator rack, set temperature to 145°F (63°C), and dehydrate for 2 hours. Then, flip the strips and dehydrate for another hour.
  • Uncover the dehydrator and allow the strips to cool for 1 hour to dry more. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate.
