Get the kids involved in making this fun and festive patriotic treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 package Betty Crocker™ Candy Shop NoFade™ baking cups
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 2 cans Betty Crocker™ cloud white cupcake icing
  • 2 packages Betty Crocker™ Candy Shop blue gems
  • 4 packages Betty Crocker™ Candy Shop red gems
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and line 24 regular-size muffin cups with baking cups. Prepare the cake mix as instructed on the box for 24 cupcakes. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Frost each cupcake using the star tip from the Betty Crocker™ Cupcake Icing can. You can also use an offset spatula to smooth the top if desired.
  • Position 8 blue gems in the upper left of the cupcake to form a field of stars. Place 3 red gems in the first row, 4 in the second row, 7 in the third row, and 5 in the bottom row to create stripes. Repeat this process for the remaining cupcakes.
