Filet mignon strips cooked with mushrooms, served over tortellini with a creamy homemade Alfredo sauce - a delectable meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning (such as McCormick®)
  • 2 (8 ounce) filet mignon steaks, cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 0.5 cup quartered fresh cremini mushrooms
  • 1 (20 ounce) package refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 fluid ounces heavy cream
  • 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Combine the olive oil, soy sauce, and steak seasoning in a small dish. Submerge the steak strips in the marinade and let them sit for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat a heavy cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and melt butter. Sear steak strips for 2 minutes on each side until browned. Add mushrooms and cook for an additional 5 minutes until softened.
  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add tortellini and cook until they float to the top and the filling is hot, about 3 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter for Alfredo sauce. Stir with a wooden spoon, then add heavy cream. Combine well. Mix in Parmesan cheese until blended, then season with nutmeg to taste.
  • After draining the tortellini, place it back in the pot and mix gently with the Alfredo sauce until evenly coated. Serve the tortellini topped with succulent steak and savory mushrooms.
