Indulgent carnivorous banquet!
Ingredients:
  • 10.00 gm butter
  • 1 onion, sliced into rings
  • 2 (125g each) 5mm-thick beef fillet steaks
  • 4 thick slices rye bread or sourdough bread
  • 2 handfuls wild rocket leaves
  • 40.00 gm good-quality tomato chutney
Instructions:
  • In a large frypan over high heat, heat the butter and oil until sizzling. Add the onions and cook for 3-4 minutes until they caramelize, then push them to one side of the pan.
  • Sear seasoned steaks in a hot pan for 1-2 minutes per side until a golden crust forms, while keeping a beautiful pink center.
  • Let it rest off the heat for 1 minute before serving.
  • While bread is toasting, divide onion rings evenly between two slices of bread, then top with steak.
  • Garnish with fresh rocket and tangy tomato chutney, then cap with the remaining slice of toast. Serve promptly.
